(Website last updated 9 May 2008)

We are a voluntary organisation dedicated to the training and use of mountain rescue search dogs to assist in the search for and rescue of missing persons, predominantly in a mountainous environment, but also in other areas where our skills may be of benefit.

All Lake District mountain rescue search dog handlers are also members of a mountain rescue team affiliated to the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSMRA) and therefore must already be competent in first aid and survival in a mountainous environment.

The Association is a registered charity which can continue to exist only because of public donations.
