LOCATE is when a dog team either spots lights or hears shouts to help them pin down the casualties position - the dog is then used to complete the find
FIND is when the dog discovers the casualties position without assistance (generally the casualty is unconsious or unable to shout for help)

An 86 year old lady went missing from home in Kirkby Lonsdale, and Police were concerned for her safety. |
Team members and dogs searched around the town area including fields, woodland and river banks, without result. She was found the next day drowned in Windermere. FATAL. |

Found by an RAF Valley helicopter on Slight Side in various stages of hypothermia; they were unprepared, poorly equipped, and had set out late. Evacuated to Furness General Hospital for treatment for hypothermia. |

As No 8, but this time the mispers had gone south. A group with two dogs (Fly and Mac) and two Team members heard whistles and shouts in the vicinity of Little Stand, and the pair were located by Search Dog Mac (Elly Whiteford) west of the tarn, and walked off to Wynose Bottom. |

Moffat team and dogs were tasked with searching dense wooded areas and fields. The man was FOUND by Searchdog Dottie (Kaz Brush) and SARDA Southern Scotland searchdog Corrie (James Coles) following items of clothing being located. Both dog handlers performed CPR until casualty transported to hospital - where he was pronounced dead. FATAL |

Langdale mounted a search centred on the Crinkles, and called for dogs to back up the Team; in the event, further info suggested that they were in fact on Bowfell, and they were located by Team members and handler, accompanied by Search Dog Ginny at 0145, cold, and wet on the top edges of Hanging Knotts. They were walked off into Langdale. |

A 64 year old man with health problems was reported missing from a Wigton nursing home | Searchdogs assisted Cockermouth MRT and the Police to search dense woodland and fields. The search was stood down at 11pm and re-instated the following morning with extra personnel from Cockermouth, Penrith and Keswick MRTs. The man was FOUND by Searchdog Dottie (Kaz Brush) in an area of dense woodland in a severely hypothermic state and transported to hospital. |
